A radio is either tune up or not .... unless someone is realy lax at the factory a radio should be in good alignment ...

Super Tunes can an do involve final
upgrades which in fact improve overall performance.
I just recently upgraded an old cobra from 1969 to MOSFET
it swings near 40 now so under the shops term
though exaggerated just abit is now 45.00 super tuned
which is two steps up from OEM build in 1980 something when purchased new.
No,super tunes don't move the S units or anything but a shop like
Sparkys that does through tunes are what most shops ate charging extra for

 

AND ... you could have bought KL-203 for $50 at HY and you would had 120 watts out and as much as 200 PEP on SSB

 

I would buy the KL-203. And have more power too! Plus a much cleaner sounding station.
