Opinions on Mexican truck drivers being allowed in US?

If you are legal US Citizen, you have that right. You've earned that right.

But the flood of Aztecs over the border, all the way from the Southern tip of South America, do not: legally.

So the argument that 'some' may smell while working long consecutive hours, does not equal 'ALL' are illegally flooding the market and 'stealing' jobs away from LEGAL US Citizens. Those illegals do not have normal expenses like SS cards, taxes (without ID cards, I doubt they will pay ALL of tax owed), drivers licenses, clothes washing (the wives just throw in with Hotel sheet loads), or others. Illegals get ripped off in rental housing I'm sure, but that does not equal the many benefits they receive like cops looking the other way no matter what they do.

Immigration is a way of life in America, but Illegal alien invasion was supported by an Attourney General whose parents were illegal aliens and a President who changed the Constitutional Amendments every day to help him become a billionaire.

I enjoy people from all over the world, but do not appreciate Criminals, no matter if they are now a (non voting Illegal Alien) majority of a country or not.

So ALL of these people struggling to jump through hoops to become a truck driver for several years will all be for a job that will eventually pay no more than working at Wendy's or McDonalds. And even the veterans will be displaced by cheap road hazzard trucks blowing up in fuel explosions on the side of the road, direct from Mexico.

Look at the cheap quality dangerous products we buy that are expensive from China now. And the world eco system is on a dangerous edge TODAY from the China unchecked pollution alone.

The Republican dream of a world 'salaried unlimited hours per week' at minimum wage salary is about complete. It may destroy the earth in the process, but that is OK.

Truck driving was one of the last occupations left in the old US middle class. GW Bush has now completed his trashing of America's middle class, and he may not have been elected in 'either' Presidential race legally (Republican majority programmed vote count machines).

well a little common sense would help in this issue for sure.first of all,we all have SSN's that are linked to our driver licenses(be it car or truck).this means if we do not OBEY the law,we can lose our CDL.unfortunately the USA has no enforcement powers in Mexico,so all we can do is ban a particular driver if he fails to obey the law.of course since Mexico has no real fingerprint ID system like ours,the potential for multiple aliases exists.if we are truly concerned about homeland security,all immigrants should be required to have 10 years LEGAL residency prior to obtaining a CDL.our food,fuel,industrial supplies,military equipment,HAZ-MAT,etc is hauled by truck in this country and to allow foreign nationals to do so just plain dangerous.there is a difference with Canada as the US & Canada have a similar standard of living and share legal information about criminal records and acts committed by drivers.Mexico does not do this on the same playing field with the US.we can't even get cop killers extradited from Mexico,let alone truck drivers who may injure mere citizens!IT IS A BAD IDEA untill the Mexican government becomes ONLY as corrupt as ours!REMEMBER--OUR TRUCKS ARE NOT WELCOME OR INSURABLE DOWN THERE--unless you are hispanic..talk about being racist????

 

Aug. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Mexico set rules that would allow U.S. trucks to cross into Mexico under a one-year pilot program, matching a U.S. effort to open its doors to Mexican trucks.
The rules require U.S. transportation companies to obtain a permit from the Mexican Transportation Ministry and limit participation to a maximum of 100 companies, the ministry said in a statement. The agreement would take effect tomorrow and end a year later, according to the statement.
