I stayed out over Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm staying out for New Years too. I did the same thing last year for xmas and new years.

I don't do it so another driver can go home though. That's silly! They'll go home regardless. I do it for the money I'm earning, and the money I'm not spending.

I did sacrifice a load and swapped my trailer (i had it for 8 months!) so another driver could get home loaded, though.

    mustang970 Thanks this.

20 years with CWTL, have always gotten where I wished to be on Xmas.
Worked last year, and was still asked where I wanted to spend Xmas.
Cwtl spends a heck of a lot of money every year in a attempt to.get the drivers home.
Used to rent coaches, buses, cars, double drivers up.

Well if a company as big as CWTL can go all out to get their drivers home for Christmas or where ever they want to be, then why can't other companies? It's not like Christmas comes up as a suprise, hell, I just found out it will be here a year from now. My hats off to the people at CWTL for doing the right thing!

I guess I'm in a rare position then. I haul dry food bulk and every week with a holiday in it is a slow week for me, especially around Christmas and New Years. Mills and customers either slow down or shut down for repairs, cleaning, etc. Right now I've been using up vacation time to help tie me over financially. Merry Christmas to all!
