I wish to thank everyone with all the advice that I have recieved & the answers to all my questions. I will be hopping a greyhound this Sat afternoon headed for Little Rock. If I am fortunate enough to meet any of you out on the road, the coffee is on me.

    Danfromwindsor Thanks this.

Jim, what can you tell me about the hotel they put you in during orientation? What are the rooms like (condition), fridge, microwave, TV, did you have to share a room. What about getting supplies such as food durning this period? Anywhere close by to get a meal?

    Thanks

I noticed you addressed your question to Jim; so not taking away from him, I will tell you what I remember from when I went through orientation Jan 2011. You will most likely stay at the Maverick Hotel when you get to NLR. You do have to share a room (or at least my class did). They have a T.V., microwave and fridge in the lobby of the Hotel, but not in your room. When another class starts you will likely move to the Galloway Hotel right beside the Pilot. It is set up like any other Hotel that you go to. There is a shuttle that runs after class that will take you to get supplies if you need them. During your second week of training, during lunch, either you or someone in your class can sign out the company car/van and go get lunch (that's what we did). Hope this helps!

How do you guys have your trucks set up for cooking and eating? Is there room to stack a microwave on a little fridge if you take out a cabinet? Can you get away with temporarily removing cabinets? Hubby drove for Mav last year and he's getting ready to return and I remember the microwave being in the middle of the floor where he had to step over it all the time. He had a buddy who would strap his in the passenger seat. Also what are the chances of him getting a new truck?
