maverick or Prime

I could get a long hood if I wanted to but I like my truck and it has been very reliable over the past 130K so I am in no hurry to get a different one.

 

If you have your cdl already then Id say go with Maverick. Prime is a good company too but they dont get home as often as we do unless you run the Texas region. If you choose Prime just remember to steer clear of their lease. Its a bad deal.

 

Whats wrong with TMC? Well other than Ive never heard any of the drivers talk like they are treated well or that TMC gives a care about them. Not getting home when tequested,hasseling them about fuel mileage after giving you a big boxy non areodynamic truck to drive,telling drivers not to idle even wgen its hot or cold but not providibg some kind of apu,poor pay,etc etc etc. Thats coming from drivers I talked to who were with TMC but lookin to go elsewhere because of those issues. One perk at TMC is a shiny black Pete with all the lights and gauges to make you look nice but thats where the good ends from my understanding. Oh lets not forget the hassling you about a dirty truck,out of route miles,minor log discrepancies all so they can ding your percentage.

TMC got rid of the long hoods?




The very short time I was there, that was what I loved seeing the most! Sucks about the 62mph though. I could swear we were over 65 back in 07.

 

Prime used to make.the drivers pay up front for their securements. Not sure if they still do or not...and that was the company drivers....crazy!

 

Hmm thats funny since I have never had a problem with any of that especially my pay. I made out pretty darn good this past year.

 

Not every company suits everyone. We have people that leave.Maverick.too.and.say things that I never experienced....human nature.

 

I know that, I just dont understand why people and most of the time ones who have never worked for TMC or a like have something negative to say about them.

 

They are usually repeating what they heard. This industry has a lot of turnover so every company is going.to.have the negative out there. I.am.guessing. there must be some happy people at TMC for them to keep.their trucks running...lol
