I know it's totally different but I was the last of the office staff from my class.

Just out of curiosity I gave Roehl a call this afternoon to get more information about RDTC. If anyone has recently gone through their school and is currently driving for them, can you please confirm the following I was told?
1. After the 3 week class you are an employee if completed successfully.
2. 13 days driving with a trainer then go solo if ready.
3. If you have a high enough credit score (500 or more) they will finance the whole amount, make your payments for you, and after 120,000 miles the cost is paid off and you own nothing. If you quit before 120,000 miles you owe what balance is left.
General questions:
What kind of miles are you current company drivers getting van, flat, reefer?
Average weekly gross pay after going solo?
Cost for family health insurance? Silver plan, gold plan?
Does Roehl have the freight to keep you busy, mileage wise?
Is it possible to make $35-40,000 first year, preferably closer to $40k? Which is more likely to get you closer to that figure, van, flat, reefer?
What can you expect to make your second year? Van, flat, reefer?
Does Roehl genuinely care about your success?
Any other information any Roehl company drivers can give me would be great. It does not matter if you drive van, flatbed, or reefer I want to hear from you.
Thanks. -
The RDTC stuff sounds right. I believe they knock off a percentage at certain milestones, 60,000 miles etc. $40,000.00 may be pushing it your first year. Think of your starting cents per mile and multiply it by 100,000-120,000. You will get more cpm to start if you run flats, however you will probably run more miles in a van. There are also misc things that can add to your pay like tarping (for flats) or multiple drops. Someone else pipe up with better info please.

They do pay a portion back at milestones. Not sure on the exact numbers, but treefork is pretty close.
Now making 35-40K is possible, but not if you count day one in school. Example I started in June at school. Officially hired July first. Think that 15K was close to what I gross for the remainder of that year. Now my first full year I was on pace for 35K. Just remember the longer you stay out the better your miles ave out. Good luck rubduck! -

check out my "Roehlbound" thread. Its under the Roehl forum. You will get an idea of what I dealt with at Roehl. It wasn't all peaches, but wasn't all bad either. -
