on my way to prime

Yeah its weird, but I'm going to run with it. Both my regular license and my CDL have the same number. With that being said, if it was to be on my record it surely wouldn't take three months to show. Worst case scenario, I have proof to show Prime at their orientation if they do show up. I am going to put on my paper exactly what my MVR report shows that I paid for. I look at this as a second chance to do right by my license.

I have read a lot of threads here on TTR trying to figure out what school to go to, what company to work for, what mistakes other people made so I don't do the same. I have always wanted to be a trucker. A memory that I will have till the day I die is of my father crying when the bank repoed his Mack. As an O/O, he couldn't survive a little incident called The 73 oil crises...

So, because of the economy, I have the opportunity to make a career change into something I've always wanted to do. I have nothing to loose. What little I do have will be cosigned or sold on Craigslist or Ebay. The wife is going to stay with her parents in Oregon while she completes her BSN. If I have to stay out 6 months straight, so be it. I've got no where else to go. I have chosen Prime Inc. as my first attempt towards my new career path because I am impressed with info I have read on the school, AND that several of you have defended Prime as your company, in this thread, as well as others I have came across here on TTR.

I completed the application at PrimeInc.com and have made several attempts to speak with a recruiter. Unfortunately, they do not answer the phone or return messages. So perhaps Booman, or one of you other guys could verify something for me... On the web site it states that driver training includes 4 to 6 months with a trainer. Is this correct, or is it a type o? Is this the norm for a rookie? Don't get me wrong, I like it. If I'm going to be piloting a loaded big rig down the FWY, I want all the training I can get.

I started as a CDL student on 13 May. On Jun 13th got my license. On Aug 24th, got my own truck. Havin a blast ever since. You made a good choice. Be persistant trying to get hold of the recruiter. Bad economy, they are busy

 

Easy How miles you had with your trainer before you went solo

 

30k after the license. about 8.5k on learners. CDL students get 10k credit so it was called 40k total. Same as B seat coming in with a license already
