What kind of chains? Tire chains or chains for load securement?

If you're talking about tire chains....Try a truck supply house. That will be cheaper than buying them at a truckstop.
The larger question that needs to be addressed here is "When to buy them?"
I always buy my chains in the "off" season because they're way cheaper then....Food for thought. -

If you're buying used chains...not in the bag...better make sure they are the right size!

2) i guess the other question is, you would need at least 4 chains? One for each drive wheel on a 6x4 tractor UNLESS you have diff locks for both axles? Not the inter-axle lock, but actual diff-locks that lock both sides of each axle together? -
