Hey AT, I always tucked my extra dunnage under the trailer in the brackets holding the landing gear, or if you don't have room there (depends on the trailer), just build a "dunnage bulkhead" wall on the front (or back, wherever there is room) with the extra dunnage, one chain, and a snap binder.

The only question I left unasked was what color the pumps were. Thats just CH Robinson for you. They never know anything. Just get it loaded an down the road. No details.

I have not had problems with CH Robinson. If they don't know about a load then they will either call or give me the number where I can call. For the most part, I have found them to be accommodating.

Not all CH Robinson loads are cheap and heavy. They do have cheap loads but also have good paying freight. Take the good paying loads and leave the cheap ones on the docks. I don't see the problem. I have a friend who pulls a van and he is averaging around $2/mile for all miles pulling their freight. Some loads are heavy and others are not. Some pay well, others don't. I don't see complaining about them. If you can't get a decent rate from them then find another broker or shipper where you can get a better rate. If enough turn the cheap freight down then rates come up. I have been offered cheap rates from CH Robinson, but they usually don't call me with the cheap rates. They understand that I won't take a load if it is too cheap. There are many other brokers around than CH Robinson.
