i started working for this russian owner out of chicago, 20 trucks company 2 months ago. last week i delivered a load to canada, got pulled for insection, everything went okay except that i was driving an uninspected truck. the anual inspection expired on june 2011. the company got a $240 fines for not having inspection and no inspection sticker on display.
I called the company and told them, that i am not moving unless they send me somewhere to have the truck inspected. They said NO, we will email you a fictitious inspection so you can show , in case you get stopped again, and we will bring you to our shop in Chicago to inspect the truck. They never brought me to Chicago, they sent me an email with a fake inspection done on December 28, 2011, but by my log book on that they i was in Kansas. Istead of bringing me to Chicago , they gave me more loads to Tennesee and back to Canada. on top of this they took out their fines out of my pay check, because they said that I failed to let them know that the truck dont have an inspection since June 2011, and i start working for them since december 1st 2011. ontop of this i am still on the road, driving with false papers, uninspected truck, puting my life and others in danger, and $240 in the hole. what to do? i am driving worry, anxious, unsafe, this is my only source of income, i got 4 kids i need the job, and their greed for money dont make them to do the right thing, what to do? should i contact a state trooper? A laywer? Abandon the truck? please help

There is much more liability here than FMCSA fines . If you had a serious accident the false inspection would be discovered proving willful negligence on your part . This would increase jail term and could result in a civil suit that could cost you everything you own .

Get on the phone and find another carrier,Chicago has hundreds or get your wife to do it.Dont abandon the truck(the Russian mob will kill you plus put it on your dac).Explain your situation to another carrier and get hired, then get to Chicago somehow and return the truck. Then carry a gun where ever you go for a while.Get out of deal as fast as you can!

Yeah , a bad DAC is bad after somebody kills you . But it is true you should not abandon it . That will prevent future hiring and could result in you being sued for recovery expenses .

You tell them to route you back to Chicago so you can get the truck inspected. You get there, you park it, hand him the keys, tell him he's not in the Ukraine anymore and don't look back. :) There are a thousand companies that run across I-80/ I-90. Finding another job shouldn't be a problem.

He can't take that fine money from you either. Though you should of caught it. It's his responsibility to keep up with maintenance. It's not a repair, it's regulations and normal maintenance. It probably would be a hassle to try and get it. You could file an online complaint with the IL DOL, wage and hour division and see where it goes. They'll send him a threatening letter.

Nothing racial, but from my Russian experiences, I would never work for one. Have you ever seen one go by the book?

I highly doubt the cheap guy subscribes to DAC. Only about 2500 companies out of 500,000 belong to it and they are your bigger carriers.

Count your losses and move on far away from that disaster! They want you to be a player in their conspiracle ways . . .and PAY for it too! The nerve! RUN! Thanks for reporting them please post their name as well as the first name of the owner so that your future trucking brothers can be privy and wise to avoid these clowns . . .
    Good work!

If it were me, next time you hit a chicken coop, go inside and show them the paperwork. I think they might be very interested. Can't be blamed for abandoning the truck when it's impounded. And you'll have the piece of paper to prove it.

Then get a lawyer and document everything, because your Russian dummy sounds like the type to go after you, and after you win the lawsuit, you can live off his money for awhile.
