I have pulled an oversize load with the conestoga kit strapped forward. As long as the permit is for the correct width. On mine the kit was about 10' wide folded but the load was 12', paid very well for what it was.

Yeah Sunbelt. That big one was fun to drive off at the port too, considering I had no heavy machinery experience whatsoever. Thanks to Brunswick, Jaxport, Port Everglades and Port of Miami, I can somewhat operate an excavator, front end loader/back hoe, bulldozer, tractor (nothing like the feeling of climbing a JD 7330 onto the top deck the first day you've ever driven a tractor), and a few other types of machinery.

HAHA I know that feeling. When I first started trucking I went OTR with Swift for about 6 months. When I realized that wasn't going to work. I found a local heavy equipment company to take me. With the exception of 1 other guy who did strictly forklift stuff, I was their only truck driver.

My first load was a brand new Champion Motor Grader. Here ya go kid (they give me the keys), get it delivered to the State. Old folding Hyster triple axle trailer (imo the best trailers ever built) was already hooked to the Pete and backed up to the dock. After figuring out how to start up the blade and get it rolling I aimed it for the deck ramp. Bump bump bump over the trailer tires I eased it down onto the deck. Ok, now what, I thought lol. How do you chain this down. I had never used a boomer before in my life.

I got it delivered safe and sound. Nobody helped me, nobody told me jack ####. But, that's the way I like it, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The old saying goes: if you cant dazzle them with brilliance baffle them with BS. With in a few months they had me demo all sorts of equipment to city and county municipalities all over the state. I must have hauled about a million rubber tired wheel loaders all with buckets between 3.75 and 5 yards. Excavators, back hoes, graders, bull dozers, skid steer, street sweepers, man ive hauled them all lol.

My absolute favorites will always be the tracked excavators. Just something so ominous about those tracks bowing over the sides of the trailer, even with outriggers in place.

My least favorite's to haul. Street sweepers and fork lifts. FL's have a way of always finding the weakest plank on the trailer and dropping through it. Sweeper are so low slung, very easy to rip something off the bottom.

My biggest, a crane house complete with tracks. I dont know what it weighed, but it hung over 16ft wide. The Pete had a 13 sp with a fire breathing 444 and I barely got it rolling. I had to pin it through every gear just so it would keep the next gear. I could feel the truck sag, every weld on the trailer was popping and pinging. Thank goodness it was spring ride, otherwise...

Someday im gonna get back into that stuff, as I absolutely loved it!!!

Ran into this fun hill on my way to my next pick. Wasn't as bad as it looked but would be no fun in the ice and snow :(
