No, I never got my twic but I should one of these days. Never really had a reason for it but it's probally good to have. I o/d stuff a place over my wy and I see your guys running around the belt way. I was just wondering if your work from the east all went the hole way back home or if some went to OH.IN or IL.

Superhauler what are the pro's and cons of a stinger and a jeep. I figure they do the same thing in a slightly different way but is one really better. I pull alot of stuff the 70k range but it's on stretch (60ft or so) trailers so we can do it with 6 axles because of the bridge. I love looking at all those extra axles but it looks like alot junk to deal with when you start to need jeeps and stingers.

In my experience you are better off to either use just a stinger or both together. You can move weight all over a trailer with a good stinger by adjusting the air pressure where as a jeep doesn't do anything to move weight forward so you have to be extremely nose heavy to begin with. Usually you can't move stuff far enough ahead to really utilize a jeep without having a good stinger attached to the back. Everybody says you cant back a multi axle up but I've backed one well over a mile with my stinger locked and jeep on the ground. Sorry Cpape I will quit hijacking your thread now.

Makes sense and thanks for the info. Sounds like to much thinking for me though. I think 6 or 7 axles is plenty for me.

i dont mean to change subject on the cpape, but are you still hiring owner ops around cincinatti. also, what do you require your o/ops to beable to scale with a 48 step deck. i have my own, its an 04 steel fontain kinda heavy.with my 06 t600 and all my gear, i can still scale around 47 to 48000 depending on fuel.just checking in with ya.

Yes, we would still hire out of your area. If I recall correctly, you lived a little east of Cincy? I actually started doing business with a shipper that has 2 facilities south of Columbus. Do you have your own authority?

Scaling 47-48 with a T600 & steel step deck is pretty good. I have a couple o/ops that can't even scale 46K with a steel trailer.

no, i dont have my own authority.I have been thinking about going ahead and getting it. not sure if i want all the headach though. I work for a smaller outfit.5 owerner ops and 2 company trucks and we got a few dumps otr and flatbeds otr. i got the stepdeck i use for some local work now and then moving stuff for a couple local quarrys and odd and end things i find it useful for. i was kinda looking to get into to that type of work full time to be honest. i noticed you said you had stuff going to fl and ga and also ofcourse to the east coast. just seems like your company has plenty of good freight go keep someone in my area happy. i keep an eye out on this thread.
