Hey, I seen that today but it was a inside trailer tire. Came across the Odessa,MO scale wb and there was a USA Truck sitting in the "bad boy" row with a front inside trailer tire just about gone. Not sure how far he drove on it, but it was about down to nothin' but rim.Of course it was on the passenger side so was plainly visiable to coop guy.

How long will I have to properly complete this?

Can I have an interpreter or assistant?

Your the kind of clown this cat was. Whose does it hurt? Not me, in the end it hurt him. It hurts everyone who plays by the rules. Every law abiding driver that takes care of his business, that's who it hurts. Clowns like you, dude, are the reason more regulations come about. The reason that CSA is here. It's all good though, I still enjoy filleting a driver's arse that acts like you on the side of the road. If I were a betting man, I would bet you have had your arse filleted more than once.

Hey DB I got a question regarding the new texting regs.

How many $2000+ fines have you seen or heard about handed to drivers?
And the accompanying $11,000 for the truck/bus company owner?

I was thinking on this the other day and if I had trucks with employees I'd have right in the employee hand book that if they EVER got a $11,000 ticket that the entirety of their final check was forfeited and they wouldn't even have to ask if they were fired.
Just park the truck where its at and start walking.
It'd be signed and notarized so as to be legal.

You'd have to have that policy to protect yourself. A couple $11k fines and the owner is out of biz.

I haven't caught any yet. I also have not heard of anyone getting caught yet, but I don't know everything going on across this country. But I believe your right, carriers will definately enforce this the way you stated. In my opinion, I don't think this will be something we see a lot of from OTR drivers. The ones in the past I have stopped for it were locals running dumps. Just my observations.

is that a mandatory fine, or is it just up to 11,000? or would the fine depend on say the seriousness of the accident or incident

My BIL's company started a new policy for them. They have to stop and get out of the truck to use their phones at all. Otherwise, inside the truck, they had better be turned off. Now he hauls propane, so that could have something to do with it?!?

    Dieselbear,

What would you do in this situation?

You pull a driver over, and found something amiss in thy big green book... in which the driver was not in compliance. (pick thy rule)

You start the write the driver said citation.

Driver then, throws you the keys... his license and says, "That's it I'm done"... and walks away.

Has this ever happened? What could be done? Another ticket? Arrest?

    I've always wondered???

I've seen a few drivers rolling down the road using their phones since the ban has taken effect. Worst one was a bobtail in Kentucky who was weaving pretty bad...crossing out of both sides of his lane. There really isn't any reason for that sort of behavior, though. If you notice you can't keep your truck in the lane while you are trying to do anything else inside the truck, it's usually a pretty good indication that perhaps you shouldn't be doing whatever it is you're trying to do that is taking your attention away from your driving.
