I actually have my settings like that. My biggest beef is when I get a speed warning when EX: GPS shows speed 55 actual speed 65. Just a minor annoyance. Otherwise I say keep up the good work!![]()

on the way to Pittsburgh last night my 710 was navigating me west bound on the PA TP and a pop up popped up saying that the start menu failed and the application was shutting down. i tapped the ok tab w/ the stylus and nothing happed. i powered the unit off and when I tried to restart nothing happened.
When I got to the hotel and hooked the unit to the lap top the prompt told me it was syncing and when it completed it was safe to disconnect.
then I hit the power button and nothing happened. What do I do? -
Let me know if this works.
Thanks,
Mark -

I am in the market for a truckers GPS always have wanted one, but am old school and still use my map. I noticed on the Rand site that I can get a darn good deal on a 510 refurb. Are they worth it?? And other than the size what is the diff. between the 710 & the 510?? The 710 is so big I think it would drive me nuts. Thanks in advance for your help. -
Wow I was considering a Rand unit until I just discovered this thread, it looks like there are a lot of issues with these. This is a bit disturbing because the Rand GPS units seem to be the most expensive. Over at Amazon the 710 only has a 3 out of 5 star rating and the people there are complaining of some of the same issues that are mentioned here but its still 400 bucks.
I found a Garmin 465T at walmart.com for $247 that gets a much better rating.
Has anyone had the 465T? Here is the link to this one I speak of

I like to hear from first handers, either way these things are not cheap. -
killroy Thanks this.

the unit really does work well especially for inital route planning (just add the truck dimensions). then double check on the motor carrier atlas, write down the route if the machine crashes and roll out.
