It's just the luck of the draw. Don't let anyone tell you your going to get s brand new truck maybe you will maybe you won't. Just run what they give you and prove yourself then the new truck will come. AND STAY AWAY FROM DTO until you get a lot of experience.

So i got a call from FFE this morning. Per my previous post, last week Kathy told me I was a squared away and good to go, then said they wouldn't hire me.
This morning, I get another call from her saying:
"Just wanted to make sure you are still ready to start our school on the 23rd"
I mentioned to her yes I was, but that last week she told me they would not hire me. She seemed a little confused, until after I refreshed her memory.
She asked me why she said they wouldn't hire me, and I went into detail to her explaining how Florida suspends your license if you have a car registered in your name, but do not carry insurance on it - even if it is sitting in your driveway, not being driven as mine was.
I did not receive a ticket for driving without insurance or anything like that, it was just for having a registered car without insurance.
Stupid I know, but Thanks Florida!:smt071
They reported my lapse in insurance within the hour of it expiring, literally before I could get to the DMV with the plate. It was a Saturday, and of course the DMV is closed on Sunday.
I told her I was a little indignant, because if you look at my driving record, I have 0 accidents in my lifetime, and no speeding tickets. Aside from that, when it comes to the DOT, I qualify for a CDL, and exceed the minimum standards to get one, but the problem is the company standard because of the suspension.
There are former felons driving, druggies driving, people with preventable's, and here I am with a spotless record, minus the car in my driveway suspension and nobody is willing to hire me. It's a little crappy.
I am a hard worker and a #### good employee, but can't get anyone to give me that shot I need.
I understand the company requirements to hire someone, and it's no big deal because that's just the way it goes. Sometimes you win, Sometimes you loose.
They have to have these standards in place, but if someone passes the requirements of DOT to obtain a CDL you would think on a case by case such as mine, they would let someone hire on that has shown a clear and clean lifetime driving record.
Anyways, she said she is going to talk to the director or whoever and tell her in detail the same things I told her on the issue with the suspension, and see if she can hire me anyways.
It would be nice, but I won't hold my breath. I just thought this may be a sign, as I was told NO, but then get a call a week later - kinda like a second coming chance lol
I'd rather go with FFE, than Crash Roll Stunt Team, which I am slated to go on the 30th this month.
Everyone has to start somewhere. I'm not too keen on the idea of teaming with another dude, living in a phone booth smelling someone else's feet and nutt sweat, but hey - 8months for free schooling to get my foot in the door, and get that experience is a small price to pay -
Crossing my fingers FFE gives me that chance -
Good evening guys what do you think about the oil field position.....

whats up spat, morning bro.....beings that im from Fl.....when i finish my six weeks will i go back home and wait on my truck....or what will be the procedure
-
It depends if there are trucks in the yard or not. They may have you run a daycab to another yard to recover another truck or they may have one in lancaster for you. Once you get a truck youll get a load going that way. My first time out going home took a week but I had to run some where they could get me a load going home. Living in florida can be tougher to get back home. I was deadheaded from conyers,ga. But I was home for christmas which was cool.

Cool....how long have you been with ffe...and tell me some things to look out for when I get to the academy

Sounds like the news is good for me so far! My recruiter said they are finishing up and we even picked out the best bus info for my trip! So it looks like I will be starting class on Monday!
I got to meet Spat for a little bit the other day. He happened to have a delivery close to me so I stopped by to say hi. Was cool to see the equipment up close! Now I'm even more excited to start my training! -
rollo721 Thanks this.
