Well guys here is Randys final answer on the sleep test. He says my hubby has to take it even though he is BELOW company standards. He admits to my husband the Dr( that JBS contracts for these things) is using the wrong standards of 33 BMI and 17 inch neck BUT DOESN'T"T CARE. Mind you there where no other reasons to require test. Remember this is the SAME DR Linda admitted that they were having issues with with his paperwork being incomplete on prior physicals so she thought he was just over compensating and Hubby PROBABLY wouldn't have to take it. Of course this is the same women who claimed she couldn't get ahold of the DR when the DRS office was clear NO ONE had called about this matter. This DR never even asked about snoring or being tired in the middle of the day NOTHING. He is going off the wrong numbers PERIOD. So if you think your close to 33 BMI DO NOT GET YOUR PHYSICAL IN HIRAM.( the sad part is Hubby on got it there so when he got home to Greeley it wouldn't eat into his time with his family) Safety will not back you up or follow what they ADMIT is their own policy. THIS is how they treat a loyal 2+ year employee.
BOTTOM LINE THEY ARE NOT EVEN FOLLOWING THEIR OWN POLICY AND ARE PICKING AND CHOOSING INSTEAD OF MAKING IT STANDARD FOR EVERYONE. Guess Hubby must of finally pissed off the wrong person to be singled out like this AGAINST their own policy. Watch out folks!!!Last edited: Jan 19, 2012

LDCO.. Just got off the phone to your hubbie. He is in good spirits despite all the bs. Let me say he is a great guy and a GREAT driver and is taking this in stride. Give him a big hug and kiss for dealing with something that should not even be an issue in my opinion. I think we should worry more about getting loads out on time at our plants. I can think of numerous times I have been at a plant for a morning pick up and had to sit until nightime to FINALLY get the load and be expected to get there on time by running ALL NIGHT after sitting ALL day. I did it. Anyone that has been around for a while has. But let me tell you, even though "technically" I had plenty of rest, there were times during the night that I was thinking "differently"... Let's work on this before this "not getting restful sleep because our breathing might be abnormal" bs!!
DocRox and tankerman1974 Thank this. -
THANKS SWEETIE but now the secret is out. For all that think he is the one to worry about I am way meaner and madder then he ever is. You f with my family and its on.
You speak the truth for sure. I am most mad that he is not being treated fairly or the same as the other drivers. I am mad that they NEVER said a word and they can't make up their minds. I am mad that you get a different story and number from each and every person you speak to. I am mad they say "yep its wrong but oh well" I am mad it took him calling every 2 days just to get an answer and that it was a different one then the first PROBABLY answer. I drove a longtime and I don't think this is how you treat a loyal, hardworking employee.
You make a rule....you inform EVERYONE ...and you apply the rule the exact same way for EVERYONE regardless.
EDIT TO ADD-----I almost forgot one of the MOST maddening aspects of this. Our own Safety Departments ignorance of DOT regulations and how they become regulations. Both people have tried telling Hubby in 60 days this will be the DOT REGULATION that anyone with a 35 BMI and 17 inch neck will be required to do this. Not true thats not how it works. They who are responsible for our companies Safety Dept do not even understand how DOT makes regulations or the process. Nevermind that hubby was under those numbers anywayLast edited: Jan 19, 2012

When I resigned as a driver for JBS. I was at the top of the stairs at the FM door. Darren, Becky and my FM Todd. I told them the reason I was done. Lack of miles = lack of pay. Becky did a exit interview with me. Looks as if it is the same old ######. I thank JBS with getting me driving and sitting experience. JBS could be a good company, I think they need to see the company Dr for x lax, so it will be easier for them to pull thier heads out thier ##*ES and listen better.
DocRox, robz1017, Daniel.trawick and 3 others Thank this. -
alot of bickering around here lately!! i hope i just pass my sleep test and get this cappo over with !!maybe i'll just go work for someone else also ,,a smaller company.. these coporations are just so full of B.S.
p.s if i fail my sleep test company will shut me down till i get a clearence from the doctor that i have used machine sucessfully and am cleared to return to highway shall i leave now???or take responsibility for a health issue??? heard people are glad they use the machine to regulate their breathing?? -
I personally would want the treatment IF needed and would want my hubby of course to get what he needs. My complaints have nothing to do with that( I pretty sure he will pass..... NOT THE POINT) they are complaints of lack of communication( not bothering to tell older drivers this is coming) and not applying the rules across the board the same to all drivers but picking and choosing. The lying( we keep calling the DR and can't get a hold of him) ....the making us pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket when he is under their guidelines. The failure of the safety dept to even understand DOT recommendations and rulings...the difference and how that process works. Why should my husband be held to a higher standard than other drivers?? So if that remark was directed at my complaints you obviously FAIL to grasp the real issues.tankerman1974 Thanks this. -
I'm glad that more people now are starting to see the crapo that jbs is dishing out. At least now more people are now understanding what I have been saying all this time. As of the 19th of january its been a month now with no income. Thank you randy k, darrin t, and most of all thank you jbs carriers.

I know what you mean about the whole "letting people know upfront" I know that someone had to see my medical paperwork that I sent when I applied, and it had my weight on there that, I would probably have a larger BMI than what is the "normal" range. Why didn't they tell me before I signed that I would need this darn test! I don't know what I'm going to do now....I'm just glad that I've gotten a little heads up on here what's going on. Thanks again!
