There you go with that fired thing again. Im starting to believe its a case of driver errors. I've never once had my job threatened over a issue that was caused by their customers. And getting reimbursed for the scale is as simple as sending a message with cost of scale, weight printed on bills. It goes back to what I was saying about drivers not being able to accomplish the simplest tasks to make jobs easier. Also since you think we only have a few customers, and the ones you listed we're in the SE, then how does the SW division stay open? Obviously not off the only few customers we you say we have in the SE. I can easily think of 15 more places just in GA and FL.

Every time I go to pick up water, there's a nice message on the QC in the load assignment saying to "SCALE LOAD IMMEDIATELY." Sometimes with water, I don't fuel until AFTER I pick up the load and scale it. There's a nice thing to stick in their faces. They threaten you with forced dispatch, that's fine. Just tell them, "Load is illegal. Overweight." -
They just lost me. Permission to scale????? That's crazy.
bigblue19 and kid_cardiac Thank this. -
I picked up a t-called load of pallets from one of our drop yards in New Jersey. It was brought in by one of our local drivers. The handwritten bills say the load was 35,000 lbs. The trailer had a couple of lights out, so I took it to the T/A in Bloomsbury (I-78 x7) to get them fixed. On the way there, the load was pulling like it weighed a LOT more than 35,000 lbs. After I got the lights fixed, I scaled the load. With fuel tanks at half-full, the load was 2,000 lbs over gross.
Now, if a company says they're forced dispatch, and they make you run that type of load, then we have a problem. But my company said to take it back to the yard and have one of locals get it reworked.
Moral: If a load is overweight; forced dispatch no longer applies. -
Again, you don't have to ask permission to scale here. You have to tell your DM that you need a reimbursement because all expenses have to be keyed in. You can't just throw it in a trip envelope and expect it on your check. That's something a driver has misinterpreted.

No misinterpretations at all they told us in orientation that drivers would need to call dispatch to get permission to scale a load b/c they were tired of drivers weighing when it was not needed. They would not allow us to send qc message for scale. You would get a message back saying call in. They made me fax the bills in on several occasions saying I was lying about the weight? Really! Let see there is gp and p&g in AR LA TX OK etc. Sounds like u need to move closer to Tulsa where they pay more .305 per mile

And FYI link still has a conditional dot rating look it up. Which if certain conditions are not accomplished in a certain time frame...bye bye link America. What was that about simple tasks. I left b/c I refused to run illegal in equipment not up to dot standards along with getting permission to scale and this whole idea of run the load or else. Sounds like link drivers can't the simple task of running lawful and legal.
