That's the downside of bringing my wife with me. She frowns upon that type of accommodation. Looks like we're staying in Lubbock.

Try Big Spring TX, they are less than an hour from Midland and the hotels are cheaper.

You've got a really good chance Blue Screen. There's lots of companies that only require 1 yr experience.

Ok I haven't been all the way through these post, but if a guy was looking toward a Texas oil field job, what part of the state would be best to start and any companies better than the others. I know that is a loaded question. Also I have a new CDL with all endorsements. New in tractor trailor, but not new in large equipment or truck driving in harsh conditions.

I hope it works out better for some people working in Texas than it did for me. I with a different company now not in Texas or working in the oil fields. I know its been good for a lot of people who have tried it. A few of us quit FFE werent getting any work and kept saying we were going to start running alot of hours. Never happened at least wasn't 3 weeks ago.

Stevens Transport is starting a new tanker division. Very little info right now but what I was able to get out of them is it will be south and west Texas and looking to start up in 60 days or so.

I have no clue on the driver qualifications, but remember Stevens is a training company. Just wonder what the requirements will be? Wonder if they will hire trainees? Worth looking into for the new guys.

I will say that I believe the school and training program that Stevens offers for the OTR drivers is very good.

I left the yard for home time last Sunday and when I came back Tuesday this truck was sitting outside the drivers lounge for all to see.

Well the problem was the company you chose to go with...FFE should stick to pulling reefer trailers and stay out of the oilfields. That goes for Stevens also.
