From what I hear Wil-Trans is a sister Co. of Prime and they just haul refer. I have been looking at and talking to just about all the companies, and have found a lot of info on this site. But a friend of mine knows one of the trainers and gave me her number. I had a long talk with her it doesn't sound that bad. It's a smaller company out of Springfield, Mo (we are moving to that area) that hauls from Prime's load boards. I was just wondering if anyone had any problems with them that I should be aware of. I think I am going with this one. I have had my class A since 97 and have Hazmat. But I've only had local jobs and they are the only one that are not making me sign a contract and go to their school. I will be team driving with a trainer for 6-9 weeks before I can go on my own.
does anyone know anything about Wil-Trans?

My husband has been driving for them for a couple of months now and he has no complaints. He went through their school and everything. He said that he wants to stay with them even after his contract expires.

Thank's... That's good to hear. I start on July 14, So maybe I'll run into him. I was told I can take both of my kids with me, all of the other companies said they had to be at least 10 or 12. My yungest is 7 and she wasn't happy when I said my son could go but not her, but now she's OK

16 or 18 months of team last time I talked to them. That is your training period.
Have you talked to Conway TL?
I know Swift would hire you with going to school. Just start out cheap. -
Hey Jeepnut, I saw your request about wiltrans.Well unless things have changed with them since a few years ago, when i drove for em, I'll give you the basics. They get about 20 new employes in there trainning class a week, because they loose about that many....You will be a team driver unless you op for a truck lease, inwhich case they are the only ones making money. So as a team driver you will be pushed to get to your stop, then you'll sit for a day or more before you get a load out (prime drivers get em first, wiltrans getem next) so you only get about 2000 miles maybe per driver.Thats not much of a paycheck. You have advantage if you live close to terminal, otherwise when your coming off home time and your team driver is'nt in the area,(the truck is never parked)they will put you with another driver until your paths cross, might be anywhere from a few days to a week or more. So travel lite. And some of the drivers you wil be stuck with are real scum bags. The dispatchers are very condisending, and the the paperwork and qualquam,(onboard computer)Q an A you have go through with each stop is way overkill. Best advice: steer clear, and go to PRIME, its a little better.
