oilfield rookie wannabe!

I just talked to Gold Spur ND today on the phone. Gold Spur has for the most part, been bought up by Missouri Basin Well Svcs. ND

Anyone know why every rookie isnt goin out to the oilfields? Im kickin myself in the arse for not starting out there. 80 hours is about the same i do a week but in the oilfield u can make double the pay. Long hours hard work is the definition of any decent job with decent pay.

I called thomas petroleum and liked what i hear. Since i started with a otr company im goin to do 2 more months just to get 6 under my belt, but then im off to chorpus.

Vegas what do u think of the area there? Im gonna work for a month or two before i bring my family down there but does it seem alright for a family? Like malls and stuff?

 

Listen to vegaspainter yall, I got a job at thomas thanks to this thread, and it is a pretty good place to work.

 

####, I hate it when that happens. Some times I wish I bought a trailer so I could live down the street instead of across town on long nights like that.


Btw, congratulations on making lead driver dude! They are definitely growing.

To answer your question we get regular days off but right now (at least on the site I'm working on) we are going awhile without a day off since they just got a new contract and need more people. On your days off they can probably find something for you to do though if you want more hours.

oops, my bad. I just saw where you've been there 3 weeks already. Didn't Vegas go from "5th wheel" on a "4 wheel" crew to #1 wheel in 4 weeks ? 3 weeks on the job almost makes you an 'ol timer', doesn't it ?
