ah cool i delivered a green transformer there monday i wonder if it is still sitting out side . they were trying to figure out how to get it inside finally i asked them to just take it off and set it on the ground so i can go . if you ever go there again they open at 6 am but will not let you sleep on site , there is a landstar yard down the road they get mad if you try to park there , also there is a VFW next door to carrier you can park there .

Do they pay you for all of of your loading/unloading time or do you have to give them a certain amount of "free" time?

    Enjoying all of your posts.

Yup, making me earn it though, last three days in a row I've gone to okc and back to help move some new blade trailers down here. Yestrday I drove a pilot car for some 13 ft wide trailers they brought back. Tomorrow I'm going to Ft. Worth with the new people so I can drive a truck back to Gainesville. Been a hectic few days but learning tons while I wait.

    AT,
Congrats on the thread. You have a whole bunch of truckers thinkinh twice about their present jobs. Well, at least that's the case with me.

Question: does Lone Star keep their O/O working as hard as you? I know that the O/O is different than the company side, but if you want to, will they keep you this busy?

At, that unit will be fine. most a/c companies have certain places or ways to chain their units.

and you are fine with the 4 chains, you have 35,000 pounds, four chains will hold up to 44,000 pounds . remember the wll has to be at least half of the load weight.

only thing i might have done any different would have been to try to run the chains a little more straight down or angle the front ones back and the back ones forward.

but what you did is fine, load looks fine. you are getting the hang of it very well.

every O/O i've talked to here is happy and makeing good money/miles. Not to say there may be some on the other side, but i've yet to find one. We seem to have plenty of freight planners/dispatch are deffinatly keeping me busy, not sure on how that works with O/O's since they pick what loads they want.
