Its tough to read someone's mind, that being said, if there are 10 trucks nosed in, 9.9 of the drivers are lazy?? :biggrin_25524: Come on.......:biggrin_25513:

Tell ya what...all them drivers out there that are defending the whole parking bass akwards theory...why don't ya nose into the dock the next time you go to drop yer load and when the dc gets pissed just list off the same reasons why you did it as you did here. Parking in a truck stop is already screwed up enough without someone parking in a spot backwards. And don't even get me started on bob tails in full tractor trailer spaces!!! Everyone out there claiming why it's so awesome to nose in like a retard no matter how many years or miles under your belt...your still parking backwards. If you want peace and serenity...don't go to the truck stop. How hard is that to get? Don't nose in and blame it on wanting to look at the daisies, reefer noise, APU noise, pan handlers, exhaustion, lot tramps, or anything else. Bottom line is your parking backwards and it effects other drivers. If truck stops bug you so much that parking like a goober is the only way to make yourself feel better, then don't sleep at them!!!!!!!

Example...the other night an Allied moving truck nosed in while the lot was empty, went in to the Petro for a few hours to do whatever, probably buffet, and came out a few hours later to a filled up lot. That idiot tried for over half an hr to get out and a few of us got out to help guide him, but super trucker knew what he was doing. After almost creaming a KW a few times and not being able to get out at all, we asked 3 trucks to plz pull out and circle back so this dummy could back out of his spot. If those drivers would of had electric logs there was a good chance that by rolling around the lot could've gotten them a violation just because someone couldn't park correctly. Not to mention the inconvenience.

I take pride in being able to back into almost anywhere. That's the way I was taught and it will be a cold day in hell before I nose in somewhere. Don't care how tired I am or if I wanna stare at fields of weeds...ain't gonna happen with MY truck. Just because someone has been nosing in for 47 years doesn't make it right. If mechanical problems are an issue...do what ya gotta do, regardless. That's the only time I see something like parking backwards even being a viable alternative.

And a shout out to all them drivers wanting more privacy...what happened to the pickle parks? Thought that was working well for y'all.

Guess you missed the part where they've been closing rest areas because they've pissed away all the tax money they collect to maintain them.

    And, uh, what's a dock?

What a ridiculous statement. I Think this guy needs needs an enema.

Dude you claim to be a trucker with what, 1 year experience??? And you presume to make judgements on drivers with several decades of experience MORE than you. Your pathetic! I suggest you shut your pie hole and come back when you have some sense and maybe a couple million miles under your belt!

As far as I am concerned you can park YOUR truck up your ### for all I care. I will park how I want, where I want, when I want and frankly don't give a rats ### what YOU think.

Great thread here, it brings out the judgmental tendencies of the human race. Really is a crack up reading this.

I pull in nose first usually when I'll be staying a short time, and only if the path is clear behind the trailer. This works best because I ride with a Weimanraner, who takes his guard duties pretty serious. It also works better getting the dog out without worrying what he will be stepping in and tracking into the truck. I'm sure I am not the only driver who thinks truck stops are just too dirty. There are lots of alternatives out there for parking.

I nose-in park precisely because of new drivers with attitude like yours.

I can still keep driving with damaged rub rails on MY trailer. It's easier/cheaper to fix than the hood/fender on MY truck. And when I say "MY", I paid for them - not company properties assigned to me. Maybe you'll understand if you ever invest good chunk of money on your own business equipments.
