Little Window (peeper) on pass side

Anyone ever replace or work with the little peeper window on the passenger side door?

I have a new piece of glass and new rubber surround but can't figure out what and where this extra weatherstripping goes?
I think the glass fits into the rubber surround and then into the door and then is force fitted in place by this extra strip,
but can't seem to figure it out.

Finding someone that has done this would be awesome

 

KW sent me the WRONG stripping. Thats why I couldnt figure this out. They sent me window channel stripping..
Of course your explanation was awesome too.

I dont want to use oil where the glass goes though. I am buying smoked glass and will have it limo tinted.
I need it blacked out and sadly, paint didnt do the trick.
Once it got cold, it froze and cracked right off, looking really bad.

So when I ordered the new glass, I ordered a new molding as well.

I replaced my inside fabric door panel with one that does not have a peeper window/cutout so I wanted to black out the outer window so it all looks good inside or out.

 

Well according to KW, I still have a square molding and then (as you say) a teardrop shaped stripping.

They are sending me this part next...since they made a mistake!

 

Hmm. Thats good to know....Usually I use a plastic tipped screw driver or tape the hell out of it.
My paint isn't show quality, but caution would still be a good idea!



..I had thought this stripping is installed on the inside of the door, but after looking at it and this post, seems not!
