Crete has always been a solid company.
I have no idea who you are flexin, so don't take it personally.
But usually when you are told, "If You Dont Like It, Leave".
That's usually said when they give up trying to please a driver. A relationship gone sour! Uncle!

I've heard that Crete doesn't even allow the use of a hands-free device with a cell phone. Is this true??
-
A lot of companies don't, its a big fine.
-
You are so wrong...there's no fine for using a hands free device..I.E...bluetooth.
-
I know there's no fine for using a Bluetooth, but I read on Crete's FB page that company policy prohibits the use of one while driving- in other words, they don't want you using the phone while driving period, even with hands-free

It's my belief that a large portion of the complaints we hear about all these companies are due to this. The more drivers I meet, especially the ones in my company, the more I believe this. Not saying that all drivers are like this, but I think we all know many drivers who fit this description and there are more and more every year.
Trucking is a hard profession, yet along with those of us who have a passion for it, we also seem to get a large number of those lazy individuals who have washed out from everything else and seem to get into trucking as either a last resort of thinking it's an easy job you'll get rich at. It's no wonder that these people aren't happy, and when you add on a dispatcher who does not run them hard because they feel they can't count on them, and it just gets worse.
For the record, I have no idea if the poster is one of these people or if Crete is really treating him bad. Problem is, in my mind, that there are so many unjustified complaints floating around here it makes it impossible to determine if there is a real complaint or if they are a whiner who is the cause of all their problems.rollin coal, SierraSemiDriver and BigNasty15 Thank this. -
No, but you can't dial a number while driving, you can't even be pressing any buttons while driving so essentially you can't use the phone while driving.
-
Almost all modern phones are capable of taking voice commands which mean you don't have to touch your phone at all.
Some of the higher end phones have speech to text, but why you would do that instead of calling is beyond me. -
Depends how you use it. If it's beyond one button operation or not.

Teamsters, isn't going to happen with Crete.
