So i was driving west on I-10 this morning in LA, Cops EVERYWHERE right, so this one REAL stupid one is sitting on the narrow shoulder as we come over the hill and i have a truck passing me so i cant move over.

So idiot in his pickup truck (LA Cop) proceeds to pull off the shoulder and follow me, pass me while staring at the truck all the way by.....the gets about 6" from my drivers side front fender looks out the window at the License plate, then slows down quick jumps back behind me and pulls onto the shoulder to sit again.....WTF!

lol Apparently he couldnt see the license plate when i drove past him since its not on the bumper or grill like most companies put there plates. Our are on the Chrome Fender gaurd Beneith the Headlight on the Drivers side. I will give him credit for looking rather then pulling me over to look but still he could have just past me like a normal person looked in his rear view mirror then pulled over rather then drive like an idiot and make me wounder what the hello he was trying to do lol

That place in rotan was a mud hole from hell, and yeah you were right straps rolled up on the winch not to mention he had them OVER the rub rails so I got to fix that at the same time..
    Load is 78,500.

k so you ever have a day when you do everything your suposed to do, but idiots ruin the day anyway?

Well i get to the receiver at 1015am (a whopping 15 min/9 mile drive from the truck stop) and take off both tarps 100 bungies, fold and put everything away and wait behine the other 2 LST trucks while they set up the crane......took me 15 min to do all of that.

We have these HUGE AC units (as estimated by someone at the receiver $150,000+ each. Carrier has Spacific ways to secure and handle these units anything else it not ok...

Well these idiots have LST truck 1 back in blind side for no reason, he does (he's on his 2nd load with LST but 26+ years FBing) they hook it properly with the crane and take it off and put it on the ground. (it is CLEARLY painted where the LIFT POINTS are for the crane....)

then they set it on the ground and repostion the chains from the crane (IDIOTS), since they decide they are going put them INSIDE a builing with a freakin crane.....did i tell you these people are idiots?

Well they go to lift it a secound time and :biggrin_25524::biggrin_2551::biggrin_2552: they done CRUSHED it.....so they set it on the ground sign his paper work and let him go while they make 10000 phone calls to find out what they do now :biggrin_25516:

So meanwhile me and the other LST driver (the one the shipper told me about that took 1.5 hours to put his 4 chains on) he too is on his 2nd load with LST and is newish to flatbed, he's got a 1 yr of FB exp from like 20 years ago been pulling vans reefers since). So we sat around and what ever while they figured out what they were going to do so they decided since the crane crew leaves at 4 and it was now 2 they needed to get moveing or start paying the crane people for another day....they have LST truck 2 back in again blind side and they unload him.

Then I have to wait for them to break down and move the crane before they can unload me yay me! Then i unlike everyone else turn around and put'er in the hole the right way since the crane crew was turning purple watching the other drivers attempt to blind side in at about 20 min each. So i gave them a break and did it properly lol and they unload me.

We both got the same load, loads in the morning in Houston (since it was so late we just parked here in katy back at the loves for night 3.....) now way we would have gotten a spot at the POS loves/pilot in houston at 5-6pm.

Then we both have to go to Los Fresnos, TX :biggrin_25516:

For those that have been following me from W/S know that i almost had to go there before now i have to REALLY go there. and we dont deliver until 2/1 but are going to try and deliver tomorrow and get the hello outta there i dont really wanna stay that close to mexico.

We're planning on hitting the receiver at 6am and and getting loaded and down there asap. So another LST convoy! lol Funny thing is i was just telling him about the last one lol

Gotta get some sleep so i can make it to mexico....:biggrin_2553: oh well its a 400 mile load that will put us within 210 miles of laredo for hopfully some nice kitty cat loads headed back to NC.

I cant wait for my hometime, this truck is great, love the company, flatbedding is fun but i wanna be home for a little bit, its gonna be a great 5 days off.

My day ain't complete 'til I've run my truck through at least 1 good mud hole. Just in case I can't find a good one on the road, I built one in my back yard to turn around it.:biggrin_2559:

got to the shipper at 545am, they open at 6 so 3 of us LST trucks waiting on the side of the road, they get there, we get our MT weights all of us where 33800-34100 MT! lol and all our loads were 44000-45500 outch!

So first guy in and out no problem, me in and out no problem, truck 3 was a 387 pete not a 379 like me and the other guy, so he had issues heavy truck and a heavy steel trailer. But we all got our Plate steel secured and staggered out. Couldnt make it to the receiver before they closed so i stopped here in edinburg, tx

anyhoo deliver 0700am if i can find the place. then not sure where im going yet.

Now that was an interesting evening spent following you from W/S to LST. I'm an OTR van driver,(did f/b and tanks), with truck in shop.got time on my hands, lol.
If I was younger and in better health ,I'd come join ya!!! But no way can I do the 95 lbs 6' up. :biggrin_25514: Ah to be young again !!LOL
instead of buying a real 'fridge for the truck, use your t/s point and get ya a 12 volt job. I had a small one for 10 yrs,big enough for lunch meat and salads. went and got bigger one couple months ago, after little one died. now got room for sodas ,too:biggrin_255:
best of luck in your adventures, neighbor. (south Char)

    thanks for reading along.

I'm not going to buy anything, there really isnt room for anything in this truck. And soon enough they'll drag me kickin n screaming out of this beautiful truck and attempt to make me drive a 386 pete (which has a Fridge and APU on it already). I dont know how long it'll be till that happends but im already not looking forward to that day :biggrin_2557:
