You can't take your contract (referring to c.r. england) to a lawyer, they have you sign it right there after going over it with you.
More people need to realize just how big of a commitment leasing a truck is. Most people don't look past the fact that they don't have to spend any of their own money to get into a brand new shiny truck. This may be true but, if you don't have any idea how to run a business or read a p/l statement, you will be doomed to failure.
FYI, Swift didn't suspend ANY cdl's. Individual states did due to the fact that the training school where those drivers received their training and ultimately their licenses from were cutting corners.
The school in question was NOT run by Swift, rather by M.S. Carriers who Swift ended up buying and when it was discovered exactly what was going on in the school, Swift stepped in a shut it down.
Because they purchased M.S.Carriers, they also assumed the responsibility for it's actions and have paid the price for not investigating Milliken driving school a little better beforehand.
It's a shame that so many people get on here and just bash companies without having any ACTUAL knowledge as to what they are talking about. They just repeat what their "buddy" or "friend" heard or told them.
Thank you and good night.Dewey Oxberger Thanks this. -
dear clutch,
You are misinformed my friend. I (once had a brain tumor) wasn't blackballed by c.r. england and I left on far less than good terms.
People, please don't believe MOST of what you hear on this or any other site about trucking companies.
I am NOT a fan of c.r.england but, the facts is the facts.
Do your own research and find out for yourself before acting on anything you read from an online forum.

Wow I gues this company is really as bad as they say it is.

I went through the school in IN. Finished all the training and got into a 2005 company truck in September 2008. Since CRE only keeps their company trucks for 3 model years, I was told in January to turn it into Salt Lake City. Got to SLC and turned it in. Dispatcher told me they didn't have any trucks available at the time (Cascadia assembly line was backed up) and he would get me a ride home. A O/O called me the next morning and said I could ride with him to the IN yard where my car was. When we got there I got in my car and drove back home to STL. Sat as home for two weeks (had a side job I could work) and decided to call my dispatcher. HE said still no trucks. Might be a couple months. I told him I couldn't wait that long and I was just going to get another job. Later I found on my DAC they said I abandoned the truck and load. Got a lawyer and he got it removed and filed suit against CRE for lying on a consumer credit report. CRE settled within a few days of receiving the suit. Got $2000 out of it.

Better check your "facts" about the Swift/Milliken school. the M.S. Carrier purchase was done 5 years prior to the incident at Milliken...it was completely a Swift deal not MS Carrier!
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!RickG Thanks this. -
You guys crack me up.......CRE hasnt once shoved the IC program down my anything, I did lease tho week 1 was short but i got 1700 miles week 2 i have almost 4000, they give 2 weeks grace and truck payment and now if you want to you can take your lease truck to another company. I dont know how you guys come up with the crazy stories you post but most of them are so outrageous I wonder why you even wasted time posting..

It appears that you may not have what it takes to be a successful lease operater at CRE.
