Hooked up to an empty today. Was too close to the trailer next to it so I had to drag it out before I could crank up the landing gear. Didn't realize the ground in front of the trailer was sloping down. Drove forward and the trailer lifted my drives right off the ground. Couldn't go forward or backwards. Weight of the truck was putting pressure on the jaws so I couldn't disconnect either.

Took about 10 minutes of cranking until the trailer finally dropped.

Of course as soon as I finish cranking it down the spotter comes by and pulls the trailer that was in the way before.:biggrin_25510:

that wasnt a smart thing to do unless the trailer came up a whole lot when you hooked it. your lucky the legs didnt colapse, they arent that strong when it comes to forward to backward pressure. many of these places that do lots of drop and hooks park them way too close together. the yard dog doesnt need to crank the handle. you just have to crawl under the one next to it and crank your legs up.
