Hold on...
Did you mean pay stub gross for the year to date? (mid-August)
If so, that's probably par for low miles in a tough economy. -
No, there is none of that..we try to look at the bright side and are thankful that they hired him right out of school.. He finally has some experience under his belt and we are now looking for another job...possibly closer to home, more home time, and more pay..Today is my first day on this site. I'm hoping that I will find something for him or least know what companies to stay away from.
-
Yes, that was his most recent gross pay for this year.
-
Gorci where did he attend school and was it a Shaffer approved school?
-
he was referred from the school to apply...I think crete/shaffer recruited him from the school he attended..he still had to fill out an application for them..but he got the application from the school
-
What school i want to ask shaffer if it is a approved school so i know if i can just find my own school?
-
It is because requirements like that are dictated by a company's agreement with their insurer, and can't be fudged even a day. It is written in stone. Doing so would be a material breach, and leave them open to massive liability if something should happen. They simply will not budge. Their hands are tied.
And though you didn't ask, be prepared to discover that as weak as you think his current situation with Schaffer is regarding pay, home time, and staying close to home, it's probably in the top 10% in these hard economic times.
A possibility for nightly home time with only a year's driving experience---if you are willing to relocate---is to move to some semi-outpost sort of town in Nevada, Wyoming, or similar where trucking outfits that service power plants, coal mines, and so forth are located.
Many young couples decide that a lot of time together in such places beats being apart for weeks at a stretch. You might even decide you like it. Many small western towns are quite interesting, and there is much to see and do on weekends.Last edited: Aug 19, 2010

My husband and I are thinking about driving for Shaffer as a team on a dedicated run for Walmart. Does anyone know how it is working as a team for them?
