I like living in Florida, about five miles from the Atlantic Ocean. Always about three degrees cooler than, say, Orlando, due to the sea breeze.

Bigarmin88, what is it that's keeping you in Florida, why can't you go back to wherever it is you want to be? There are jobs in Florida, I've had 2 offers to go to work down there while I'm still living in PA, I'm just not able to leave at this point. All I did was make contact with these companies and they called me back with interest in hiring me.

I've said it before, the problem with Florida is that people aren't willing to work for the wages offered to drive within the state, it's not that there aren't any jobs, it's that people feel they're worth more than what is being offered. I can totally understand where people are coming from, but it shouldn't take long to realize that if you're going to live in Florida and drive a truck that you have to be willing to bend a little bit, the wages are and never have been comparible to the north, that's just the way it is. So you make the best of it and enjoy the environment, or you move on and try somewhere else.

imo, that is the problem with the trucking industry nationwide. wages/benefits are not enough to retain drivers. a revolving door situation.

Exactly, it's a take it or leave it mentality for the most part with trucking, especially Florida, so we as drivers who live in Florida or are thinking of relocating to Florida we have to decide whether or not we're going to take it or leave it.

Ha! I have looked around and I can if they want to pay 10.00-12.00 for pulling Hazmat. I won't even do it, when I gotta drive over 50 miles to the job and back home. Not many Jobs Here in Florida want to pay a wage where a person or driver can make a living. The most pay for local gigs here from what I have found range from the 10-12 per hr for a possible full timer.

If I could find a Job were I can bring [take] home 600.00 per week. I would for sure jump too it. But when the wages doesn't even come close. It isn't worth the hassle.

If you do care to pass that information of those Jobs. I would kindly like to know who they are and where their located. :yes2557:

I made 44,000 working for Pritchett Trucking in Tallahassee pulling trash, home every night and off weekends. They have accounts all over the state of Florida from trash hauls, to aggregates and wood materials, it can be done.

Well ######, They more location we Floridians can find out the better we are. But I am sure most of US Americans are not lazy. I do know Most are Americans are. Just depends on the person.

This is interesting information for sure. I will look into it and see what and if there is any nearby the location I live at.

    Thanks!
