Hi,
just wondering how much weight have you guys hauled with a Ram 3500. I'm trying to find out which truck would be better with a gooseneck trailer that holds 20,000 lb.
Thanks!

How much they HAVE hauled and how much SHOULD be hauled are 2 different stories . The Dodge Diesel forum had guys pulling over 40,00 lbs.albhb3 Thanks this.

I'm really looking at how much legally lol, not gonna do anything crazy!

Depending on the year of the truck, it can vary. In 2008, I think they were for a gross combined weight rating of 23,500 lbs. -
Buying new or used ?

Now that's the factory specs but they often are exceeded and it's safe to do so within a few thousand pounds .
Just don't tag a new truck for 30,000 lbs. and bring it in for warranty work .

What difference would the tag make?
My last two trucks had tags for 26,000 and they still had to honor the warranty work.Fullforce Thanks this. -
It depends on the dealer and the weight you have on if you get towed in loaded . I'm also sure they couldn't get out of honoring a warranty for a fuel system problem due to weight . A driveline failure would be a different story .Fullforce Thanks this.

It will state it on the door will it not. Why dodge? 20 k can easily be pulled if you do it right. Dog on in every time you take off and it won't last long! You'll need air bags or the Timbrn rubber stoppers. I use the latter.

My trucks were taken to two different dealers in two different states. Never had an issue.

The last I knew the GVWR was on the door but the GCWR isn't shown anywhere .
