Well I am back at home now. I was all set to drive to Mississippi on Wed., but when my mentor picked me up from his home time. He was all over the road with his car, his speech was slurred and his wife (who was in the front seat) made him let her drive. She was not any better. It took us 15 minutes for him to get me to the motel when we left the truck for home time, it took him 2 hours to find the terminal when we were headed back. I ask to get let out ant they would not stop because we were on the freeway.

Anyway when I got to Houston terminal he stepped out of car and fell on his face. I reported it to my DM and he sent me to his DM. His DM took his keys and sent him home. I hope my (ex)mentor made it home ok, they were really driving bad. Anyway, I am home waiting on a new mentor. I basically said "I will not ride with someone that is obviously impaired."

What do you think the chances are that I will get one that will teach me what I need to know to go solo?

First, I'm glad you're okay. Second, you made the right call. Third, I hope this mentor has a VERY difficult time finding a new job.

Finally, I expect to see him show up on these boards complaining. About how terrible Swift is because they fired him when he wasn't feeling good on the word of a no 'count rookie.

PM Bluebonn. I don't think he has a student right now.

I am still at home, but should be getting a new mentor by Monday. If all goes well, I think this will be a good thing for me. It certainly will be welcomed for me to finish my training.

Got off Bluebonn's truck tonight, catching ride w shuttle driver to Laredo to upgrade Monday. It was a bittersweet moment. Had a great time w Blue, learned a ton, looking forward to learning more every day. GM is in for an excellent expeience w a driver who is a gifted teacher. On the other hand, the stories I could tell...

Giggles, I thought it was funny. How's extended hometime?
