If ya wanna drag skateboards,go tell someone, like your DM to start with. I will probably be getting my truck Thurs and have seen signs posted in various terminals while enduring my mentorship,to the effect that Swift is looking for more flatbed drivers, although I have heard of several bedders draggin boxes around.too Go figure It is Swift. Phoenix is the place as it is THE left coast flatbed terminal. You'll at least have to do some tiedown classes if you have been drivin for a while. I haven't seen Greer, Gary is unimpressive, particularly their lack of ability to fix a wiring issue on our trailer. 50 miles down the road we lost all trailer lights AGAIN. After 5 hours of repair. ?????

At Swift, is the pay rate the same for flatbedders as it is for pulling vans?

Hometime is what you decide it will be. You earn 1 day of hometime for every week out and have to be out 2 weeks in order to take hometime. I had to fight to get 1 1/2 days @ Thanksgiving (after 3 weeks out) yet had no trouble taking 4 days @ Christmas (after 4 weeks out).

Yes, I'm a lease driver. Unsure about the mentor wait, but its usually pretty long because there are fewer mentors than interested students.
