Suppport Thread for the TND 500, TND 700 or future Rand McNally products.

Hey Mark, I finally got by home and picked up the new DC cord you had Rand send me. It has an angeled tip on it which I thought may be an improvement.

I plugged it in today and hit the road. The screen on my 710 kept going dark like it was in Night mode. I even went into the settings and set it to Day Only and that fixed it for a few miles and it went dark again.

I tried unplugging it and it lit back up. Long story short as long as its plugged in with the new cord it goes dark. Switched back to the old one and played with it till it worked again. (old one is messed up but I can get it to work)

 

What's the difference of the models sold at Walmart of the 710? One says 710 GPS Navigator and costs $399. The other one says 710 portable GPS with lifetime map updates and costs $359.

 

My tnd700 died yesterday, 13 months after I bought it, speaker been dead. Screen was flickering for a couple days, then started going white, unit turned on and died. Rip tnd700

 

This is online on Wal-mart's site to store website. I'm still in training so I can't make it home to get it if I buy it cheaper on Amazon. Does all of the TND 710 models come with the black pen?

 

I think I wasted my money buying this thing not only do it tell me the wrong way to go 15% of the time(I,m still looking for them low clearance bridges on I83 in PA and the one near my house on Bus 85 in NC) but now I have to ride down the road holding the plug and wiggling it to keep it on and the ac and USB cable wont work cant even hook it up the update. And if it freeze please do not hit reset you will have to wait 24 hours for it to reset it self just unplug and battery will die in 5-15 min plug back in and you are good to go for a little while at lease
