Many have recommended on here actually. I prefer it on here rather than attempting to talking to a random person. I tried it once and it was awkward. Not at a truck stop however.
Going to truck stop tonight, What should I ask?

"Howboutcha driver, looking for some commercial company?" Bat your eyes a bit.
Red Hot Mess Thanks this. -
Get fuel, shower and a place to park for the night- those are the only uses I have for a truckstop. I stay away from the lunch counters and tv rooms, and on the rare occasions I eat in a restuarant, I sit in the general public section- not the driver's as I don't want to listen to the bs stories or sit near some fat smelly slob in ratty sweatpants and a cut-off-sleeves shirt
to the O.P.- I think your best bet would be to go by a trucking schoolNyman, Red Hot Mess and Bill104 Thank this. -

I really, REALLY, wanna say something kinda rude and funny, but y'all beat me to it...

i don't see the need to be rude to a new driver asking questions....we were all new once too.
like windsmith said- ask drivers of a company that looks interesting to you. I have a friend with May Trucking out of Salem OR and he is doing well there. I'm with Holland Enterprises out of Fargo ND but we don't hire new drivers -
