i've hauled copper out of arizona.
the shipper won't let you on the trailer what so ever. the stuff sits outside. and gets unloaded outside. the brokers want it tarped. but who is paying?
and then there's the metal loads that can't get wet. and yet they get unloaded and stuck outside in the rain and snow. WTF. and most of the receivers could care less and actually don't like waiting for the tarps to be pulled off and put away.
i forsee more tarped loads in the future

Years ago when I hauled steel, there was a place in upstate NY. They had signs up about not untarping untill you were in the building..
Was a nice morning out and I was getting ready to untarp.
One of the regular drivers said don't do it. They will reject the ld.I'm like huh?
Yep had to leave the tarps on untill you were in the building.
Another place stamped right on the bills no tarps needed.. Loved that place... -

sorry free, it just ain't happening in our lifetime.
the govt passed a law in 1928 for a flat rate fee that shall last for 100 years.
jimmy hoffa #1 tried to fight it. said it violates the constitution and all the crap. -

the last load i hauled said NOT ONE OUNCE OF WATER. it turns orange.
the last ttime my tarps were used. it snowed. that load needed plastic on top before i could roll my tarps. when i delivered. the receiver didn't even care. -

Ive HEard that...but when running the southeast in summertime weather it drives me nuts -
I think it's time the shippers all do this.....
How many of you would attempt to tarp that load? -
i would put both of my 20 x 20 steel tarps on it, then i would call you and ask what to do next......
