How Many Schools Make You Falsify Logs?

Because nowhere does it say they were prosecuted by the FMCSA. They were charged with "... conspiracy, making false statements, making false statements to a bank."

Can you tell me which section in the FMCSR they were violating? I am pretty sure that the FMCSR has no section pertaining to conspiracy or making false statements to a bank. But if you can show it to me I will admit that I am wrong.

They just happened to be doing something related (though loosely) to the FMCSR when they committed a crime. If you rob a bank wearing a NY Giants sweatshirt doesn't mean that you were doing anything for or against the Giants.

(No disparragement was intended towards NYG fans... Just used that example since they won the game...)

But, I think the general idea is that this school was commiting fraud against the State. I imagine there is probably some FMCSA code that prohibits this type of act. However, (I would only be speculating here) I would think that if this school doesn't have a license, then how could it get its license pulled? Do you see what I am saying? I know for a fact that all schools operate under some State Board (in Arkansas its the Board of Private Career Education). With this in mind, if a school makes false claims, they can lose their license under that board. If they use Financial aid from the Feds....they can lose that as well. It sounds like the school that is making claims of 'so many hours in the truck' could very well be lying, and should be investigated by their governing board. But, I doubt it's the FMCSA...
