I'm not sure what you're referring to here, DX. Either way, I have re-located antenna mounts to as clear an area as possible on my particular truck's application. I'm currently experiencing coax problems but will get that handled tomorrow. After 2 runs of supposed good coax, I was able to get by the CAT CB shop at the Petro in New Paris, Ohio this past week and he fixed me up with some excellent cable. I'm thinking that truck stop stuff (K40 and others) is junk and not very durable. I can run my coax along the rack and have a hundred places to tie it up and secure it but if there is any bend at all, it seems a break develops right off. I'm not sure if it's me tying it up too tight or what but I'm gonna pay closer attention to make sure the coax is not in any way open for a bend or break.

Shoulda paid for the good stuff one time and forgot about it, but I thought I was buying good the first time. Live and learn and lighten the hip pocket, I guess.

I should of read the post a little closer.Sky thumper came out with an antenna that mite work with your car hauler.Sparkey has them on his web sit under the trucker link. Most of the time if you are by a tall or large building your SWR will be way off, this mite be the case with cars.My next option would be mounting your antenna on or around you bumper as far away form your cars.I hope this helps.Keep us posted I'm sure there's others out there that have had this same problem.

I can trick my radio with my matcher if I wanted to go that way. 4 feet is 4 feet and my FGT Wilson is 1.1-1.2 now. 33 bucks is a lot for that little load that can be bought separately. That one trucker review did not sound good at all either.

Not an option and actually would be the worst place to mount on my mess. But you are getting your post count up, DX. :)

I was messing around today moving my antenna about two feet down from my flat bed headache rack and noticed my swr's went from 1.2 up two 3,so it defiantly makes a differences where you mount them.I put them back where they belong LOL F 150 with a flat bed so know one will get confused.:biggrin_2556:

Or you could order a couple stainless steel quick disconnects from Jerry Cash @ 330-896-3485 in North Canton Ohio. He ships all over the contry. I believe he charges about 15 dollars for his quick disconnects. Bob sells Jerrys disconnects for about $30.00 apiece, but I would rather go right to the source. They are 3 times stronger than the Hustler and Workman Stainless Quick disconnects.

    The Truckist Thanks this.
