Drinking limit

What I loved was going to the DPS (DMV) with four students and coming back with one.! Whoops!

 

Please tell me this is not the photo on your CDL! If it is, you're busted for sniffing something...anything! Impersonating a human.

Rollover is right. Regardless of the actual limit the majority of trucking companies will not hire you for at least 5 years,if at all if you are convicted of a DUI. Also many states can bust you for a DUI if your keys are in the ignition even if you didn't go anywhere.

 

I had a friend that almost got a DUI for the keys law but lucky for him my sober butt pulled up to the house while the cop was there and I was able to talk him out of arresting him. The guy's never driven after drinking and always passes out in his car listening to music if he's not at his own house.

You bringing it up made me wonder one thing though. When you're sleeping in the bunk of your truck would the keys in the ignition still apply? What about the backseat of a car? Is it specific to sitting in the driver's seat with the keys in? The only two places I've ever passed out drunk were in my bed and with my head laying on a toilet so it won't affect me either way lol.

And back to the main point of the thread, it's a lot easier to not drink and drive than figuring out if you're legal or not.

 

Some of you guys are killing me. "Don't mean to be judgemental, but you're retarded to even drink alcohol". We are not children, we do not need to be told what we "should" do. I was looking at this post myself, its relevance being that if I were to quit this job would I still want my CDL if the only thing it could get me is a lower threshhold DUI conviction? If it were the case I would consider dropping my CDL for a normal license.

Thanks for those who looked this info up, I was directly told in school (NC)that .04 was the limit in your personal vehicle. Now that I know, its a great load off my mind. So why would I quit? Mostly to get away from from this intellectual black hole that is truck driving, or perhaps to actually lead a social, normal, active life and not be isolated from the people I love. But yeah, its a great job...wouldn't want to risk it.

 

Well as a former Police officer my self and mind you this is Georgia law. CDL holders fall into this trap. .04 while operating any motorized vehicle. Exceptions to this are vehicles that require a CDL. Those vehicles are .02. Which means 1 beer or one shot or one glass of wine per hour will keep the average person at that level. So call a cab.

 

Don't drink. Period.

 

I'm going to say don't drink and drive. Period.

If you're of legal age to drink and you choose to partake that is your own #### business just don't even sit in the the driver's seat of any vehicle.
