New Toy review:
If you remember i posted that i baught a new toy to play with....
Well I got it when i came home, seems to be of good quality, does its job so here it is!
I baught a Hight Stick from AutoHaulerSupply, since 80% of LST's loads are OD, and we have a (if you hit something overhead your FIRED policy) i thought this was a good idea. Even with my legal loads (at the moment) i've been VERY close to 13' 6 a few times on weird loads, all of which i was able to climb on to measure. BUT some stuff i wont be able to and this will give me a accurate measurment from the safety of the ground!
For those that do no know (this is NOT me in the picture....im NOT that old)
Here's how it works!

anyway $150 seems to be allot better then other Hight sticks out there, much cheaper, designed by the people selling it, all parts n peices are replacable from them cheap (no other ones are like that)
I'll post a further review IF i have any problems or find something good worth posting about it

lol good stuff man, yeah we do have a lot of high stuff, I got two backhoes right now. Anyway, thanks for the reminder on the sirius, my annual bill renews next week so can't afford the polishing!
American-Trucker Thanks this. -

oh as for the blue parrot, I had that one and then got the xpress version which wraps behind your head. I liked them both, great battery life and built like a tank. My one complaint is you basically need to have the mic in your mouth for someone to hear you clearly lol. Maybe just my bad luck.

i keep the mic about 3" away from my mouth and off to the side and no problems, you musta got a bad one....or you talk really quiteStewarrrrttt! (old MadTV joke....)

we old mobile home haulers used to make height poles from a extendable wash brush pole, just make the cross piece to screw on the end and marke down the side with feet and inch marks.
all the mobile home haulers use em. but if ya need one, they dang sure come in handy.
and there are good threads here on both the blue parrot and xm, many troubleshooting tips on them.
and one trip out west will make sat radio a must , and the coast to coast am show is on 168 -
I am not a fan of height poles. In my opinion, it is difficult to get an accurate measurement. They always seem to be leaning in or out, not level, the cross piece is not straight, etc. We have one and there are definitely loads where you have to use it. Given a choice I will always climb up to the to and drop my tape down. If you are going for a very accurate measurement with a tape, always measure the load first, then the trailer. Don't try to measure from the ground to the highest point.
