Yes, you are correct... A non-Prime CDL grad with no experience is hired as a C seats get .10/mile or $500 for four weeks, then it automatic to B seat at .12/mile or $600.
Now someone may correct me with more recent info. that 4 week time as C seat was in effect back when trainees did 60k miles. I speak with some experiance as all but one of my trainees started as C seats.
I'll know for sure in about 3 weeks. I've lined up a C seat trainee arriving in Springfield for orientation around the 29th. I'll squeeze in my hometime in Daytona for the race, and head to Springield in time to pick him up by the time he's done with orientation.
Anyone Starting Prime training Jan 10?

I will be there next week as a C seat having just completed my CDL. I will run as a 2nd seat for 40K. The $$ quote is accurate as of the email I got on Wed.
Counting down the time until I can call myself Prime.

I'm pretty sure you'll only be a C seat for a couple weeks before your B seat. With all my previous trainees it happened automatically. The only thing you'll notice is the pay bump.
I looked at my TNT training packet... It's about 3 years old and it said C seat was 5 weeks than B seat. All miles counted to upgrade to solo company A seat at 60k. It was also an additional 20k miles before a driver could lease (80k). Again, note that was 3 years ago.
It's common knowledge now that the 80k and even the 60k are no longer in effect and without any objection from your trainer or the safety dept, you can upgrade company or lease at 40k miles.garciamag and silenteagle Thank this. -
When JCW was C seat back in August, it was 4 weeks, with an automatic jump to B seat at 4 weeks. He had to do 40k, even though both trainers felt he was ready well before then. He could have leased from the minute he upgraded, but we chose to go the company route.garciamag and silenteagle Thank this.
