I am about to attend JB Hunt orientation. I am roughly the size of a baluga whale and out of shape.Do I have any worries? I have been driving since the end of the civil war and have a spotless record!
I was promised a dedcated position. Does this sound accurate?

Promised a dedicated position>With ALL the drivers JB has in their fleet WHY would they promise an unknown such a "plum" deal? Either they're lieing to you (not a recruiter) or it's not such a "plum" deal. Maybe it'll be handbombing @ a Dollar General>that will help your whale like physique. -

WOW! Why do you feel the necessity to harass someone because they asked an honest question AND explained why they are asking?
Bigman, I don't have any information for you about JB orientation when it comes to physical stamina. I would expect to answer questions regarding sleep apnea and be required to do some light lifting. I would also expect to be tested getting in and out of the truck.
I do have an opinion on the dedicated position offered to you. I received a call last Friday about a dedicated account available in my area. When I called them back to find out the particulars, it went to voicemail, so I left a message for them to call me back. The following Monday I received a call from them apologizing, the position had been filled, and they didn't want to offer me something that couldn't be delivered.
Sooo...I would expect that if they offered you the position, the position is available and waiting.

good luck in orientation. I started fo JB 10 years ago and was promised a local job by the account manager himself. the recruiter told me He didnt think I wouldnt get it cause I didnt have enough flatbed experiece and I was not a company driver already. I talked to the account manager for an hour and a half and was hired over the phone "basically" I worked on that account for almost 9 years then relocated to go on another account and still here. they moved me from missouri to utah and finally to texas in one year on my own request to help fill the job vacancies.
Good luck in orientation -
You WILL have to take sleep apnea test being that big you will only get 4 month dot card regardless of your physical outcome and if you dont take JBH medical insurance you will have to pay for it out of your own pocket. Good luck. my suggestion.....
