A pretty teeth pulling week thus far. A few short loads and a looooooooooong delay to pick up at John's Mansville in Winder, GA. Asked for a detention slip as we have to use their's and the guy ask "why do you need that?" All I could do to not ask if he was stupid or just an #######. I sit in your #### gravel yard for 22 hours and you have that kind of response. He said a bunch of other highly inflammatory #### as well. Needed a crowbar stuck up his ### to rectify that attitude.
Oh well now here I sit in Houston waiting to unload this #### insulation.

Does Crete force dispatch Canada? I'll do alot of things but I won't do Canada ever again.

Not that I know, been with them on the Shaffer side since Aug of last year. I see you are from Fl, also just to let you know they have had a hard time getting me home and on time.

A pretty tough week with some unusual p/u times, detentions, screwed up dispatches and some other #### but all in all not too bad. Had a chance to stop in and see friends 3 nights (Lafayette, LA, Houston, TX and Alexandria, LA) for dinner and drinks. Last night I bought a 30 lb bag of crawfish and my friend boiled them up with some other fixings, good times. Got a good load heading north for a change and looks like I will be a day behind all of the ###### weather the whole way. Heading through my old home town tomorrow and probably going to stop to take my mom out for lunch and a short visit.

Well I have been with them for about 6 mths, havent been dispatched or heard of anyone being dispatched to Canada yet, and no requirements for having a pass-port or quick-pass to drive for them yet.
But when I called to sign on with them, the first 2 calls said I wasn't qualified, the 3rd call I made, I made sure I was talking to a CDL driver, he said give me a min, got back on the phone, said no problem you are over qualified (go figure LOL).
The two recruiters I talked to before did not know what a triple axle step deck stretch trailer was, and did not know what over sized loads was?
(That is just some of the hauling I did before, and I also shipped my loads into Canada.)
The lesson here is, do not believe one recruiter, trust what they say, but verifie their statements!:smt066
(They do not all have the same Game plan-Book in front of them and most do not have a CDL!)
LMAO -
I don't have a passport, so I don't go to Canada. Schneider didn't require it...left it as an option for drivers, so I never got mine.
Got the word today that they're bringing me to Lincoln ASAP, as my truck "has been sold". I knew it wouldn't last....
Anyway, I'm in Dallas, heading to Houston in the morning, then we'll see.... -
Have been with Crete for 3 1/2 years have never heard of going to Canada anymore. Was told when I was hired that they did not go to Canada, maybe we do now, but if we do it must not be very often. Hope this helps.
Lamborghini Owner Op Thanks this. -
I wouldn't mind going to Canada if I could atay well west of Quebec.

Stopped by the old DOT in Texas today on a random inspection. No violations so all is well. Think that is 5 inspections in the last 4 months. My last company had the bypass combined with the EZ pass so I suppose that kept me out of the lineup more frequently (2 inspections in 14 months, one on a freak stop after I got bypassed by the one near DC when I went into the rest area and one on a random stop on a side hwy in NY.)
Had a nice lunch with mom and then made my way up to West Memphis. Aiming for Wytheville tomorrow afternoon.
