Orlando, OK. Had to call the FM this morning after sending a msg to my DM regarding this t-call. After waiting 2.5 hours and no reply, had to do what I needed to do. The FM agreed with me, that this should have been taken care of on friday. Stopped 60 miles from my T-Call, OKC. Had enough of these winds, crosswinds, and with 17K in the box, I was mostly all over the road. 360 miles of them. This now makes 20 str8 days of fighting winds. Winds where about 25-30mph with gusts up to 40. Nothing like getting away from cover and getting hit with a 40mph gust of wind. The morning will be much better. SW winds at 15mph.

Back from hometime, sitting down here in the Phx terminal waiting on a load.
took all my preQual mentor kiosk stuff lastnight, dm said they'll give the ok to allow me to mentor and push it through. Waiting game now.

Was approved on a truck lease as well, but there is a 2 month wait for the KW 660, or any KW. Volvo 780 and the new freightshaker are about a month wait.
gives me more time to decide if I still want to lease, im on the fence about it still.

Whelp my pta was last night 2359, been up 7hrs now waiting. Think its time to call my dm, as night zombie shift should be over.

Sitting here with a thousand other trucks waiting for 80W to open.

Made a mistake this morning. I was at the TA down the road, clear skys, and I headed out.
Got 20 miles and the road was still closed.
Thought it would have been reopened by now, should have checked it.

Oh well, at least I found a spot to park. Trucks are cluttering every on/off ramp and anywhere else they can find.

 

I threaded the needle ... got into Denver Saturday morning. Sat all weekend, loaded out and snuck over the moutain last night. Some snow on Vail and the canyon was a little mucked up, but no chains.

I could have t-called this load in Denver for home time with my girls, but I decided to take it to Salt Lake and get a load back to Denver for next weekend.
I would have gotten to Denver late Sunday or early Monday and they would have been back in school, and I want a weekend with them.

Hopefully the road is opened soon enough that I can make it by Friday or Saturday.

 

Mt. Vernon, MO. #####, I really hate this plus one, and the fact that people can not input infor correct. Accepted this load from MaC 30, 4462 lbs and FCFS on Thursday for delivery. Load arrives, pu paperwork, 44,602 lbs, and ld assignment, all of a sudden, it is appt. Bills say fcfs, ld assignment in comments says both, fcfs and appt, and ask the dm, told that appt. Sent back msg, getting real tired of not getting correct info. I accept loads from the info that I am given. Wish that there was a way that they could somehow exempt O/O from this plus 1.

 

San Antonio, TX on a few days hometime to sell the car (done) and move out of the apartment I've been sharing with my brother (almost done) so he can get a new roommate. That way my only monthly bill will be the phone and I can take hometime where and when I want to be a tourist.

Things and places like Hot August Nights or the National Championship Air Races in Reno or Mardi Gras in New Orleans. I also intend to stop and go fly fishing the next time through Missoula, MT. I am liking this OTR trucker stuff even though I'm older than dirt; too old to function according to some.
