Hmmm...decisions, decisions.
Slam on my brakes to avoid a possible red light ticket, thus causing my load to potentially shift and result in a claim against my company by our customer that could ultimately result in us losing an account for repeated issuesOR don't be driving fast enough in an area with red light cameras to warrant having to slam on the brakes?
Now, I know you're going to come back at me with...you can't always control how the cookie crumbles and other such things. Believe me, I understand and get caught at red lights in my 6-8 wheeled vehicles just like you do, but the point remains if you always practice defensive, safe driving habits (i.e. not tailgating, not speeding, and not texting while driving) then this really shouldn't be an issue 99% of the time you're operating ANY motor vehicle.
And while my vehicle may not be an 18-wheeler...it's still a giant billboard that everyone is always looking at and just waiting for me to do something wrong so they can be the ones to blow the whistle.
No one is perfect all the time, but everyone has the opportunity to strive for perfection every time.![]()

I cannot believe the stupidity of some of these companies... it is truely epic. -
I do drive defensively...have been for better than a million accident free miles.
That doesn't change the fact that the cameras are not set up for large (long) vehicles...they set the speed limits...they can set the cameras up accordingly.
I'm all for being safe, but I still get paid by the mile... -
-
And I applaud your 1 million accident free miles. That is not an easy achievement. -
Right.
Traffic planners won't do that. -

My initial thought (reply) to this thread was gonna be....
I wonder how they rate my farts...they are probably recorded too. I hope they enjoy them, and I hope they know thats what I think about all this "big brother" BS. -

Don't get me started on what I think of insurance companies...the language filter won't allow me to discuss it.
07-379Pete Thanks this.
