    Not hardly.

It is the big companies. Never saw such rubbish with my own policies.

Well, front facing Vorad or a video camera is more accurate as a measure of following distance than that hard braking crap, since they are designed specifically with that in mind. That is their function.

The issue is, does your company allow for other tools or just that stupid crap that's tied into the qualcomm? It's bargain basement, man, and that should tell you a thing or two about the company you drive for.

Great...Vorad...that ever so annoying sqwauk device....

Sqwauks at bridges, signs, guardrails...this is a truck not a #### B-2 bomber...I do not need computer assisted controls or radar.

Vorad is OK for new drivers...I can see how it may help them keep an eye on things, and it is better than just monitoring what the Quallcomm can keep up with...but geez, when is enough enough?

    Honestly, let's really be honest.

What this downloaded data from trucks(baby sitting) really does, is allows someone to have a job to analyze driver actions... And allows some pencile pusher that have NO clue what it's like to actually drive a big rig... tell million+ milers how to 'safely' do their job.

    Their insanity knows no bounds.

Thank God my boss is also a driver

    Ridgerunner665 Thanks this.

What makes you think it is a babysitter. See it records your actions not controls them. I know some silly people somehow have it in their meager heads that these devices control a driver. They do not. But they will highlight trouble spots.

Also proves helpful in a court of law when you can show a consistent pattern of safe driving. Same with the forward looking camera that loops. I have no irrational fear of it. I do not need to" hide" any action nor be told what action should be taken.
I will use evry piece of technology available to insulate myself from frivilous liabilities and do not blame my company for doing the same.

Thd fact is 99% of drivers operate well within those parameters. The other 1% need ti be exposed and removed with about 29% more for other behavior.

All this silly red light crud of excuses is just that. If you get caught by one your going to fast. Yes yes I know you think those quaint black and white signs (+ about 5 over) mean that is what you can do. But it is most likely not what you should be doing. These are not cars gentlemen and they should not be driven as such.

Right, wrong, or indifferent surface streets are not engineered nor designed for our convenient use. So you have to be a professional driver and adjust your speed, attention, turning, and operation of your commercial vehicle to account for that simple fact. It's called operating your vehicle. Some can do it and face no issues such as those tracked, others make up excuses for placing themselves in that situation.
That also is a simple fact.

    LSAgentOZR and mustang970 Thank this.

No it is information the owner of the rig pays someone to analyze. Sometimes multi-million milers whom are fully aware of how to drive a rig.

And once again it is no babysitter. It is more a report card comparing you against drivers in the same field.

Some people can stand scrutiny others fear it.

Really? Maybe you need to look around a little more.

Yeah you do, and I've done way more than you have and some of it without the luxury of power steering and jake breaks. So if I'm opposed to having "big brother" watching me how are they to know if I'm a safe driver with over 2 million miles of safe driving without a "box" in the truck telling my every move? I find it rather odd that most of the ones on here that are getting these so called "tattle tell boxes" are working for companys that have their trucks govern down at 68 mph or less now. I also find it rather odd the three states (Ohio Texas and Illinois) have done away with there split speed limit (Ohio interstate only) and Texas and Utah have the fastest speed limits for trucks, 80mph.
By the all the is moot anyways, most ECM's on todays trucks all ready record this information.
