Anyone know anything about the Conway terminal in Cheyenne?
As in, good runs out of here? What type of runs (LTL, D&H, dedicated, or what)? Home time?
Any and all questions about Conway Truckload can be answered here!

Ok so, I read about 30 pages on this thread all of which has been very informative, I do still have a few question though. I went through SWIFT 's driving school back in August of last year, graduated and got my license. However its been since September since I last stepped foot in a truck. I'm still confident that I can drive and do the backing though it might be a little sketchy for the first few hrs.
What I want to know is, do they give you enough time to regain your skills before they test you at "boot camp"?
I'm sure it wouldn't take but an hr or 2 to get familiar with everything again. Just don't want to get up there and get sent home for lack of skill.
Does Conway provide transportation to and from the hotel and school?
How many people on average will be in "boot camp"?
On the 45 alley dock, are you allowed to use pull ups, if so how many without failing?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!! -
Just graduated " boot camp" today. R.C and Keith are a couple of great instructors, ( "Just move the #### truck" and "I have no idea what the hell you are doing") LOL. We had 15 in our class and the same for next week, bus picks you up every morning and drops you off at the Boonslick Lodge every night, KFC buffet for dinner Monday thru Saturday, crappy breakfast at the hotel and lunch at Crowder College. You should get a chance to practice the 45 degree, you get 2 pull ups and then they start deducting points for any more.

With 141 vacant trks...they are ramping it up

I'll be there March 5th for Orientation .

Not sure when I'll go. I haven't even talked to a recruiter yet. The only person I've talked to is a friend who is a finisher. After my last go with Swift, I want to make sure everything is as said or at least to an extent. Everything so far seems good, so I might be making my decision soon.

I live just about 20 miles from the Joplin terminal....been driving for 22 months for another company and looking for something else.......I have a few questions before I go talk to Conway.
1. Will I be able to take my truck home?
2. Will I be sent to boot camp? (Crowder is where I went to school)
3. Do they allow inverters?
4. How long would I be out and what is their home time policy? -
2)No you do not go to boot camp. That is strictly for fresh Student Graduates. You just do orientation at the Joplin Terminal.
3)Yes they do allow inverters up to 1500 and the Joplin Mechanics MUST install it at no charge for the labor. You just provided the inverter. I bought mine directly from Con-way for $200.00.
4)Never was exactly sure how long before you can highlight for home. Someone else must answer that. But once you highlight for home, they are supposed to have you home within 8 days. You earn 1 day home time for every week out. If you have 5 or 6 days earned, you CAN take them all. None of this "3 or 4 day max or turn your truck in crapola" that you see from some of these companies. -
They do require All new hires to obtain both a passport and hazmat endorsement within 120 days of hire. They are Forced Dispatch and that does include forced dispatch all 48 states AND to Canada.
