I was told to bring with me to orientation a battery pack for the cpap machine, i looked up some prices and they are expensive. anyone know where i can get one at a good price? I thought about using a duracell power pack 300 will that be sufficient for the DOT regs?

The battery back up they sell with the cpap cost a couple hundred bucks.
I would be concerned about a company wanting you to have that. Idling a truck with a cpap isn't just for the power needs. You can get hypothermia using one below 50F because of the volume of air being forced into your lungs..cheflee Thanks this. -

I read the hypothermia warning when I was researching CPAPs several years ago when my doc wanted me to get tested.
Here is a link where I read about this: Truckerdad is a member here:

Also there are no DOT Regs for CPAP use. There is a medical review board that has made recommendations that companies are jumping on but there are no rules...yet.cheflee Thanks this. -
I use a CPAP and I run it off a small inverter. I can run my CPAP for 6-8 hrs with the engine off without draining my batteries. That's also including the load from my refrigerator. My Columbia has a low voltage warning and cutoff and I've only had it go off once when I was using my CPAP and that was after not idling for more than 12 hrs and watching TV, having the CB on, my fan on, etc.
Starting the engine won't reset the CPAP when connected to the inverter when it's running so it would work with a truck equipped with Optimized Idle/Cummins ICON, etc.cheflee Thanks this. -

i have one of those battery jump start things with a power inverter on the back would they be allowed on the truck for a back up to the cpap or something i am kinda confused here

That chamber has a heater to keep the water at a comfortable temp. She also has a hose cover. A snuggy type deally to keep the air warm all the way to the mask.
