That's also true, my view is your safety needs to come before compliance. However, that doesn't mean you can violate at will, but I can understand how you may not want to park on the side of the road in Laredo.

Look at all the noobs with there "is this going on my DAC?" questions like a bad DAC report is going to be the beginning of there end.
We all know the all knowing, all seeing DAC rules the trucking world! -
In essence, drivers are the reason they have a job in the first place... Many times they forget this fact...
The few times I've done this, a couple times the boss has called me into his office, smiled at me, and asked me if there was anything that I needed.
LOL! -
Sometimes I wonder why I think about things that I have no control over.07-379Pete Thanks this. -
I get more rest and miles with the elog.*getting old and I need my rest*
So now I dont get 4,000 miles every week..oh well.boo hoo.
I dont need to hurt my head running a recap, and I get to smile at the "MAN" at the scale house.
Last night I ran out of time at my shipper..cant park there..FM said find a safe place and it was 12 miles to the Pilot. No big deal.
The truck did not shut off,no'one jumped out of the side box and said "Bad Driver!"
I have no idea whats on my DAC...havent looked at in ,well maybe 15 years. And I dont care about it. -
If a driver has mutable write ups for log book violations while claiming the carrier ran him hard yet the carrier's safety record dont reflect little to no other drivers getting wrote up that should red flag that driver. Of course the size of the carrier would come into play also.

Yeah but it won't stop the chicken littles from making up silly fantasies to relieve their anxiety about technology.
Hell they are already staring on the CB. Go by any truck stop about 9am and liaten to them discuss why BFI is parked in the middle of the road. At least twice you will hear some expert come on and tell everyone" That's where they shut him down".
As usual no factual information but like US Marshall stories they are again all the rage. -
Tazz Thanks this.

Been on elogs for 6 days. Today being the worst. Shut down 22 miles from the yard. Shipper for this freight load took 3 hours to load. On paper would I have went on? You bet. Did I think about it today? You bet. But, I did enjoy the phone conversation. "You know that 670 mile mail run for tomorrow morning? Gonna have to find someone else"

I stopped a guy today that had his electronic logs running. He had 45 minutes left on his 14. Luckily he was less than 5 minutes away from his destination. Got him in and out with enough time to make it there.
