Mic. That's cool. I'm just looking for the fastest way through the program. I have a REAL tough time sleeping in a moving truck. I think it's called FEAR!

FYI my classmate who drove for 10+ years...he and I sat in the back seat while the guy that need more practice than me drove...him and I would takeover and drive for a couple hours during the day..or back in a time or two in the backing area....we would let the guy that needed the most practice get it..

    Crusty Thanks this.

Oh, so you have 'local' driving practice. How much time is spent with a trainer OTR?

if you're going to have your class A plus recently completed schooling, you get a different training than those of us who are entering the company with just a temps and no prior recent schooling.
Just remember...those "pups" will learn to bark just as well as the current pack of "big dogs". :biggrin_25525:

I don't know how long it is now with the new phase thing that the company rolled out last year...I was an EVO student..and I was only with a trainer for 13 days...then off to my own truck (at the time the minimum was supposed to be 26 days)...its up to your trainer when they think you can test out...it might be a week...could be a month...it all depends on how they feel about you...FYI Treefork is a brand new flatbed trainer...

if your not going through the company school you will go through orientation...then out with a trainer...for x amount of days...again its up to your trainer...I know someone who went through the schoolhouse with me and then out with a trainer for over 30 days and she didn't get hired cause she could not back to save her life...so the company didn't hire her...she now works for PAM...

13 days after all the classroom and close quarters etc training. Crusty shouldn't have to sleep too much in a moving truck, as far as I know there's not a lot of team style driving going on. Besides if I get a 10 year vet who really knows what's going on I'd probably push to have him just test on out asap. I haven't started training just yet, but within the next month I expect to.

I was told the company frowns on team driving during training. Its a safety issue.
