The manager for the second job told me he is Ag HOS exempt and I will not need to log. But I understand you to say I should log hours of another job no matter what it is. Still a little confused. Tks

Since the previous days weren't subject to FMCSR , it's o.k. to show driving over 11 hours or taking less than a 10 hour break those days . -

There's a daily log book you can use that only needs your time in/out written down. You wouldn't need the full size logbook for that.

If a Canadian driver from Quebec enters into the U.S. and DOT chooses to inspect his vehicle and during the process where the driver is required to assist (Press brakes, turn signals, present paperwork, ect..) the DOT officer recognizes that the driver cannot understand our language and subsequently determines that the driver can't read our signage as well. Can the driver be cited or placed OOS? Same scenerio for me, a Southern Boy who is 100% illiterate in French, when I'm dispatched to Quebec? But we're dealing with U.S. Regs in this thread.

Technically, yes. Unlikely they enforce it though.
xlsdraw Thanks this. -
When I was dispatched to Quebec a couple times I felt like I was a safety Hazard and felt like I was placing my CDL and livelyhood in Jeopardy.

Well, in order to be HoS exempt on the second one, you have to stay within a 150 mile radius. You'd use the same daily log for that. If you were to haul a load of freight for an outside company not directly related to the farm or if you go over 150 air miles from the farm, you'd have to use a full log sheet for that day.
I'm not really sure how the 70 hour rule would apply. I know if you do have to use a full sheet, you'll have to have 10 hours off before you drive that day. -
Company B is exempt. Hauling fruit from farm to shed less than 100 miles. Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday)
So is this correct?
1. Keep time cards for company B (Or if what you said above is correct, I need to log for this also. Thinking they are not going to want me to.)
2. Log for company A
3. Stop working for company B after a total of 70 hours driving on Saturday.
Sorry for repeating this but trying to understand. Tks
